Launching the ATM network and developing the new controlling software for ATM

Problem

Solution

 

The ATM Terminal was selected as a solution of a problem that allowed the project team to apply a number of new approaches. For example, they did not use the standard NDC protocol, completely separated the core of the controlling software and the UI layer, and removed the dependence of the controlling software on the OS version.

ATM Terminal supports modern services on devices: contactless payments, QR-code withdrawal and replenishment operations, Personal area service. The interface of the devices also should be modern and user-friendly.

«It took us about 9 months to develop a multivendor ATM application. It is very tight deadline for such a project. The fact that we have all necessary competencies and developed this software based on our existing solution for payment kiosks really helped us. In the course of the project, eKassir developed the software for ATM, which is distinctly different from the existing solutions on the market and at some points exceeds it. During the progress, our company worked closely and productively with colleagues form Tinkoff Bank who created all client scenarios, beautiful and modern interfaces for ATMs and implemented integration with bank’s services. The first ATM was installed in the only branch of the Bank in Moscow in July 2017. By the November 2017 ATMs were installed in large cities in Russia.

Tinkoff is Russia’s first and only direct bank with nearly 7 mln customers. The bank was founded in 2006 by the Russian entrepreneur Oleg Tinkov. TCS Group Holding PLC, the bank’s holding company, has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since October 2013. In October 2016 Tinkoff Bank was named the largest independent global direct bank by Frost & Sullivan. In 2016 and 2015, the Global Finance magazine named Tinkoff Bank as the Best Consumer Digital Bank in Russia. In 2016, the bank also won Global Finance’s Best Integrated Consumer Bank Site award. In 2016, Tinkoff Bank was named the Best Digital Bank in the CEE by Euromoney. Its mobile application was recognised as the best in Russia by Markswebb Rank & Report in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and by Deloitte for four years in a row in 2013–2016. Tinkoff Bank is a General Partner of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in 2018. Tinkoff Bank is a member of the deposit insurance system (the system guarantees each depositor of member banks a payout of RUB 1.4 mln on deposits and current accounts, including interest income).
